Yalcin Alver is currently working as an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Ege University where he has been a faculty member since 2009. He received his master’s degree in Construction Management from Ege University, followed by his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from Kumamoto University, Japan. He studied as a visiting researcher at Kumamoto University Japan and Berlin Technical University, Germany.
His research interests span both transportation planning and traffic engineering. Recently, his work focuses specifically on public transportation planning and traffic safety. He completed three TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and eight other nationally-funded research projects.
He has more than three ongoing projects about traffic safety and transportation planning. His research has appeared in leading journals such as Journal of Accident Analysis and Prevention, Transportation Research Part F: Traffic Psychology and Behaviour.
He is an active consultant for government and private companies.
He is married to a fellow academic Professor and has a gorgeous daughter.
